A milestone for a Yarmouth County fundraising group.
The ‘100 Guys Who Share’ just surpassed 300-thousand dollars in donations.
Last week, they were able to give over 12-thousand dollars to the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church ‘We’ve Got Your Backpack’ program.
100 Guys member Rick Allwright says the church program does important work.
“They hand out food to kids and families that are most in need. Our donation will also finish off their fundraising needs for the year,” says Allwright.
They’ve now donated 310-thousand dollars to 25 charitable organizations that support Yarmouth County.
Allwright says they have no plans to slow down.
“Our group remains strong. We started this in 2016 with 112 members, and we’ve maintained 100 members at least the entire time.”
Allwright says they’re always looking for new members.
Each donator gives 100 dollars and votes on one of three groups to receive the large donation.
