The ceremony takes place at the municipal building in Hebron.
There were elections for five of the seven seats in the municipal elections.
Incumbents John Cunningham and Trevor Cunningham were acclaimed in Districts 1 and 5 respectively.
New to council are Daniel Allen, Patti Durkee and Loren Cushing.
Re-elected were Leland Anthony and Gerard LeBlanc.
Warden Murray Goodwin did not re-offer.
CAO Ken Moses says the ceremony begins at 7pm.
“We’ll be welcoming our new councillors as well as those returning and they will all be administered the Oath of Office. That will be performed by a Justice of the Peace this evening.”
Moses says following that, the warden and deputy warden will be selected.
“There’ll be a call for nominations for the position of warden. Following that there will be ballots distributed, if there’s more than one nomination. The members around the table will vote, the ballots will be put in the ballot box and counted and the outcome of that will determine who the warden is , then the same process will be followed to select the deputy warden.”
He says they’re keeping tonight’s event mostly ceremonial.
“Just to initially get the members sworn-in and to get the warden and deputy warden selected, then we’ll be selecting some dates to do some orientation with them so we can give them some background before we do the committee selections and so forth.”
