RCMP detachments in the Tri-Counties report a quiet and uneventful Halloween.
From Shelburne to Digby the Mounties say there were few calls and no serious incidents reported.
Barrington RCMP Sgt. M-J Deluco says it seems to be a trend.
“Our last few years have been quiet and I attribute that to so many positive things that have been happening in the community to keep young people occupied and sort of divert the attention away from the actual Halloween night. The town of Clark’s Harbour had their haunted house all last week, the exhibition grounds had their fright night. One of our local citizens has his yard decorated with all kinds of pumpkin people and the Chamber of Commerce had the Spooktackular Run, so I think all of those things kept our young people occupied and sort of took away the actual Halloween business.”
There were the usual complaints of smashed pumpkins.
Fire departments in the area also report a quiet night.
