Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League:
The Southwest Storm took both games of a home-and-home against Chester on the weekend.
They won 8-2 Saturday night in Barrington and 6-5 yesterday on the road.
Zack Richardson had a hat-trick in Saturday’s game, Spencer Surette and Miguel Deon each scored twice in yesterday’s win.
The Storm are 4-1 to start the Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League season.
Minor Hockey:
The Yarmouth U15 AA Mariners opened their season with a 3-0 win over West Hants on Saturday. Ben Leblanc, Gordan Deal and Parker Leblanc scored, with assists from Carter Amiro, Cayden d’Eon and Sawyer Kristensen. Rylan Leblanc was in net. Yesterday, the Mariners fell 4-1 to Acadia. Ellie Blinn had the goal.
