A season opening 12 game win streak is a distant memory for the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners.
The club dropped their third straight game, 4-2 to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers last night at Mariners Centre.

It was the first loss at home for the Mariners as the Crushers pulled into a tie for first with Yarmouth for the MHL lead with 24 points.
Mike Snow put the Mariners on top early, but costly penalties gave the Crushers the lead.
Yarmouth allowed two, too many men on the ice penalties which contributed to the Pictou goals.
Mariners Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron wasn’t happy with the second call.
“The first one was a real bad mistake by us. The second one, I don’t know what happened. I thought we were fine, but apparently the guy coming out of the box was a little bit late.”
Barron says his team didn’t have the effort needed to get the victory.
“I thought we probably only played about 40 minutes. If we played with the same sense of urgency we played with in the last 12 minutes, we would have been fine.”
Brodie Butt got the Mariners to within one, but the Crushers added an empty netter.
Leif Hertz took the loss in net.
