A Yarmouth man has been located after fire leveled his home early this morning
The man, believed to be in his 50’s, was not accounted for after flames broke out in his home on the Mood Road in Summerville.
Firefighters determined that he was not inside his residence.
The RCMP’s Police Dog Services was called in and began a search of a wooded area near the house.
After he was located, the man was transported to hospital in Yarmouth with undetermined injuries.
Yarmouth Fire Department Platoon Chief Hank Nickerson says the house was in flames when firefighters arrived.
Nickerson was not sure how many were in the house at the time.
He says a cause has yet to be determined.
He says the RCMP is investigating and the fire marshal has been called in.
Besides Yarmouth, fire departments from Lake Vaughn, Port Maitland, Wedgeport and Eel Brook were on the scene.
An excavator was brought in to clear the debris.
