The federal government will fund an infrastructure consultant team for Universite Sainte-Anne in Church Point.
West Nova MP Colin Fraser announced $27,000 today to engage the team to create an infrastructure development plan.
The goal is to merge new and existing offerings in the Louis R. Comeau building and the sports complex on campus.
In a release, the government says this will assist the university in ensuring the planned new additions will improve the student experience while maintaining the character and charm of the historic campus.
The consultants will be hired by the university in collaboration with the Municipality of Clare.
Fraser says the choice to explore green options for the upcoming update will play a part in reducing emissions and building a low-carbon economy.
Founded in 1890, the university is the only francophone post-secondary educational institute in the province.
About 500 students attend Universite Sainte-Anne.
