Want to have your say on Yarmouth’s deer issue?
The Town of Yarmouth is looking for citizen volunteers for a Deer Management Working Group.
Three spots are available. Those selected will work with town staff, the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables and other experts to develop a Deer Management Strategy.
The strategy will look at reducing problems with deer affecting individual properties, public education, and exploring options for reducing the population.
The town says the group will look at all sides of the issue to find both short and long-term solutions.
Those interested are asked to email admin@townofyarmouth.ca with their name, phone number, and why they want to join the group.
More information on the town’s early plans for deer management can be found here.
