A chance to get involved with a well known Canadian fundraiser.
The Terry Fox Foundation is looking for volunteers for the Barrington Passage-Clark’s Harbour Terry Fox Run.
Terry’s older brother Fred Fox shared some words from his brother to encourage people to get involved.
“He would often say ‘we’ll all be touched by cancer’, it may not be personally but maybe a family member, a friend or somebody who lives in the neighborhood,” says Fox. “We relied for so many years on those community groups and volunteers, they’re so valuable to making a difference in where we are with cancer research.”

In addition to event volunteers, a run organizer is also needed.
The Terry Fox Run takes place on the third Sunday after Labour Day each year. This year will mark 42 years of the event.
Fred Fox says its all about supporting cancer research.
“Terry would be so proud to know that people around the world, Canadians in small communities all over the country, people have come together to make a difference in cancer research,” says Fox. “Close to $900 million has been raised in Terry’s name.”
The foundation began in 1988 and continues to raise money in commemoration of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.
