Lobster fishing season came to an end yesterday and the Lobster Capital of Canada is celebrating the crawling crustaceans.
The Shelburne County Lobster Festival is on this week.
Events are taking place throughout the county, from Lockeport to Barrington and everywhere in between.
The Light ‘Em Up for Lobster Festival will take place at various wharfs, there’s also going to be a “Build-a-Lobster” contest and a family fun day at Sherose Island Recreation Complex.
Other events include the Great Lobsterman Challenge at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena, the “Lobster Life” Photo Contest and the Lobster Loop Hike in Lockeport.
There’s also going to be a market, challenges and a few chances to get some chowder.
A full list of events with dates and locations is on the Festival’s Facebook page.
