After a two year break from its first year, Y-Con is coming back in June.
It’s Yarmouth’s own “Comic-con” with a variety of events including cosplay and painting contests, video and board game tournaments, panels and a number of vendors.
Malcolm Seaboyer is the president of Y-Con and discussed what the event means to people.
“It’s a celebration of a lot of different things, comic books, board gaming, video gaming, cosplay,” says Seaboyer. “The overall goal of it is community building, at the heart allowing people to express their passion.”
There’s also going to be some pre-events leading up to the convention including social gaming and trivia nights.

Y-Con was first held in 2019 and after the pandemic largely shuttered it for two years. There were small events but it’s now making a full return.
Seaboyer says it means a lot to the gaming community.
“We really think that its been hard on the gaming community to be disconnected because to play board games a lot of the time you have to actually be there in person.”
The convention will be held from June third to fifth at the Rodd Grand Hotel in Yarmouth.
