Environment Canada says a vigorous low pressure system is expected to cross the Maritimes Friday and Saturday accompanied by a strong cold front.
It says indications are that this system has the potential to give rain at times heavy which could result in localised flooding.
The special weather statement applies to much of Nova Scotia including all of the Tri-Counties and the South Shore.
