The winner of the election in District 4 of the Municipality of Yarmouth has changed.
Patti Durkee is the official winner, not Andy Baxter.
Baxter had 173 votes after the unofficial results Saturday, but after today’s official addition his vote count was reduced by five.
Durkee’s stayed the same at 169, giving her the victory by one vote.
Martin Innes finished a distant third with 71.
The three were new candidates for election, as Steve Paquette switched districts and lost his seat.
Baxter does have the option of requesting a judicial recount, but there is no word yet on if that will happen.
408 people in District 4 voted, a turnout of 37.5 per cent.
