Funding for the tourism industry in Nova Scotia.
The province has earmarked $12 million for the upcoming season.
Most of the money, $9.2 million, is for marketing activities for registered accommodations.
Other funds will go toward attracting visitors to the province and encouraging them to explore, and increased online booking capabilities for businesses.
Tourism Minister Pat Dunn says the investments deliver on the PC government’s promise to support regional, homegrown tourism.
The province says tourism revenue was $1 billion for 2020, with a similar figure expected for last year.
That’s down from $2.6 billion in 2019, largely due to the pandemic and border restrictions.
