Nova Scotia Power is still trying to resolve water migration issues for the Tusket Falls Main Dam refurbishment project.
The company is working to upgrade the dam’s hydro system to modern standards.
Speaking with our newsroom, President and CEO of NS Power Peter Gregg discussed the delays in the project.
“We’ve had some water migration issues at a couple of the bays at Tusket that we’ve been dealing with,” says Gregg. ‘We’ve been continuing to work and we’ve brought in some outside consultants to help us with that.”
NS Power has to provide an update to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board on the project by today. They revealed the water migration issues to the board in December.
“We’re finalizing the plan forward on how best to continue that work but to make sure we do it on as cost effective basis as possible.” says Gregg.
The project is already three years behind schedule.
