Mariners Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says the ownership group was looking to do something different this year.
“Rather than just having the pink laces and pink tape and raising some money for the local cancer unit, we wanted to something a little bigger and bolder. So we decided to get the jerseys. We think it’s going to be pretty popular.”
The jerseys will be auctioned off at the end of the month with all proceeds going to the Dr. Edwin Janke Cancer Centre at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
On the ice, the Mariners hope to continue their perfect start the season.
The team sits in first place in the MHL with a 10-0 record, and third overall in the country.
The Mariners host the Woodstock Slammers tomorrow night.
