Craft distillers in Nova Scotia are descending on Lunenburg this weekend.
The Spirited Away festival gets underway on Friday and will showcase locally distilled spirits such as rums, gins and vodkas.

Pierre Guevremont is co-owner of Ironworks Distillery in Lunenburg and helped organize the festival.
He hopes the event will raise the profile of independent distillers in the province.
“It gives us an opportunity to bring people in to introduce them to all the various distilled products that are being made in Nova Scotia. To celebrate that and to have a number of events related to that celebration.”
Festival-goers can try the spirits at a number of events around Lunenburg says Guevremont.
“We’re bringing together five or six mixologists from Halifax and they’ll be working with us over the weekend in workshops at the gala and so on. Doing mixed cocktails using all these Nova Scotian products.”
The mixologists will participate in a Sip and Dash where they will create unique cocktails as well as a gala event to be held at the Opera House.
