The provincial government says they’ve gone as far as they can in negotiations with the teacher’s union and is asking for a conciliator’s report.

Once the report is received the province has 14 days to review it.
Then it will be another 30 days before any job action can be taken.
Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Karen Casey says the government has arrived at two separate collective agreements with the Nova Scotia Teachers Union.
Both of those agreements were voted down by union members.
After 70 percent of the membership rejected the last agreement, NSTU executives have called for a strike vote.

Information sessions will be held for teachers across the province next week.
And the strike vote will be held on October 25th.
