A community centre in Shelburne County has plead not guilty after being charged for not enforcing health restrictions.
Following complaints from residents, the centre on Highway 3 in Woods Harbour was charged in October last year for not abiding by health restrictions, and failing to enforce proof of vaccination or masking requirements while hosting events.
The centre plead not guilty last Thursday in Shelburne Provincial Court.
In October, Police spoke with the centre’s management to educate them on health restrictions. They attended a Halloween craft fair a few days later where masking wasn’t enforced and proof of vaccination wasn’t checked.
The RCMP served the community centre with a summary offence ticket for failing to abide by health restrictions in November.
The matter is scheduled for trial on April 28.
