Municipality of the District of Yarmouth Council 2020
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth will learn more about aquaculture Thursday.
Last month, MODY’s Planning Advisory Committee hosted a series of virtual workshops to learn more about aquaculture, as they consider recommending related changes to the land-use by-law and municipal planning strategy.
More presentations were approved for the workshops after community members against the changes requested them.
The day starts with Dalhousie Professor in Marine Affairs Programs and NEXUS Coastal Resource Management President Chris Milley speaking from 10 a.m. to 10:45.
Environmental Lawyer at Juniper Law Jamie Sampson will speak for 45 minutes at 1 p.m.
Citizen and Participant on Healthy Bays Network Brian Muldoon will present from 2 p.m. to 2:45, NS Fisheries and Aquaculture will present from 3:30 to 4:30.
The day will end with industry participant and past president of Coldwater Lobster Association Bernie Berry speaking from 5:30 to 6:15.
All of the workshops will be livestreamed on MODY’s Facebook page.
