‘The Big Swim’ helps raise funds for Camp Brigadoon, a cause near and dear to Bobby-Lou Reardon’s heart.
Reardon, who has completed the 14 kilometre swim along the Confederation Bridge before says conditions were surpisingly difficult.
“Considering that everyone thought it wouldn’t be too bad the previous day with low wind and high temperatures, it actually turned out to be the toughest
Reardon says she’s glad she wore her wetsuit, as she felt the cold waters were a lot to deal with.
But she says it was well worth it, if it can help send kids with disabilities to camp.
She says the 49 participants exceeded their goal of $150,000.
