Yarmouth Rural RCMP are searching for suspects after an attempted robbery on the Hardscratch Rd.
Around 11 p.m. on Monday, police received a complaint of an attempted robbery on Hardscratch Rd. between Tinkham Rd. and the Yarmouth County Landfill.
Police say a man was travelling when he spotted a car stopped on the side of the road. A woman near the car flagged him down. When the victim exited his vehicle, he was rushed by two men who came out of the ditch and attacked him.
One of the men was armed with a weapon during the attack. The victim’s dog attacked the man with the weapon and the suspects fled in their own vehicle.
The woman suspect is described as thin with brown curly hair and sunglasses. RCMP say one of the male suspects had heavily tattooed arms and at least one heavily tattooed leg. They describe the suspect vehicle as a small older grey car.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. that evening according to police.

The RCMP say they are aware of a number of social media posts circulating but that this is the only incident that has been reported to them at this time.
