A barn fire near Barrington yesterday afternoon.
At around 5 p.m, firefighters from the Barrington/Port La Tour department responded to the blaze on Lake View Drive in Goose Lake.
Barrington Fire Services Coordinator Dwayne Hunt says the 16 by 24 structure was destroyed, and the siding on the home 20 feet away had started to melt.
A power line had burned off and was still live on the ground near the barn, Nova Scotia Power was called to the scene.
There were no injuries, and no animals were in the barn.
Hunt says the department arrived on scene in 14 minutes and the fire was knocked down quickly, firefighters were on scene for about two hours.
The Woods Harbour/Shag Harbour, Island and Barrington Passage and West Pubnico departments provided mutual aid.
