A popular spot to cool off in Yarmouth is still open to swimming.
Lake Milo is a busy place throughout the summer.
Yarmouth Recreation director Frank Grant says the water is tested regularly.
“We have lifeguard services from the Canada Day weekend until the Labour Day weekend and we test Milo water every week that were in operation. So far, so good. Our E-coli levels have been below the acceptable limit. Every year with dry weather, especially when the lake level do go down, we are very concerned with the water quality,”
Port Maitland and Mavilette provincial beaches are currently closed to swimming due to a high fecal coliform count.
