A new Destination Management Plan will soon be presented to the three municipal councils in Yarmouth County.
Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association general manager Neil MacKenzie says there are 18 recommendations.
One of eight short-term recommendations seeks to woo the Municipality of Clare back into YASTA.
Clare left the group a few years ago.
MacKenzie says they were a founding member of the association and would played an important role in regional tourism marketing.
“We’ve reached out to Clare a few times to make sure that they’re aware that we ‘d love to have them back in the partnership again. I think YASTA has done a lot of good things and I think Clare originally had a lot to do with that.””
At a recent Yarmouth town council meeting, councillor Wade Cleveland said Yarmouth would love to have Clare back in YASTA.
The sentiment was also echoed by Mayor Pam Mood and councillor Clifford Hood.
We were unable to reach Clare Warden Ronnie LeBlanc for comment at this time.
