The province has announced a $4.7 million investment to boost public transportation.
It’s being made through two government programs: The Community Transportation Assistance Program and the Public Transit Assistance Program.
In Yarmouth, $121,200 will be invested to support the town and the Hope Dial-a-Ride of Yarmouth County.
Sou’West Nova Transit in Shelburne County and Le Transport de Clare will also receive funding.
A total of 26 projects will be funded through the investment.
The Community Transportation Assistance Program is providing more than $1.8 million in funds for 19 door-to-door community transportation services.
And the Public Transit Assistance Program is providing over $2.9 to municipalities and community organizations for fixed route transit services.
