The managing director of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation is retiring.
After 18 years as the first managing director, Paulette Sweeney-Goodwin will retire and development officer Mary Surette will fill the position.
Surette offers well wishes for Sweeney-Goodwin.
“It’s been a pleasure working with Paulette over the years,” says Surette. “She’s been an incredible mentor and she has such a passion for enhancing healthcare in our region. It rubs off on everyone she’s around, that’s for sure.”
She’s also sharing her thoughts on the new job.
“It’s challenging, but I’m up for the challenge,” says Surette. “I’m just too keen and too eager to jump in with both feet and look at future possibilities of enhancing our healthcare.”
Surette joined the foundations management team in 2007 and became development officer in 2012. She’s worked on projects such as the Spring Gala, Jody Shelley’s Golf for Health tournament and the WE CARE Radiothon.
She says her goals as managing director are to continue the five year strategic plan, and start a campaign for enhancements to the emergency department of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Surette is thankful the community has supported her.
