The Wharf Rat bike rally in Digby has now been cancelled for the second year in a row.
Vice Chair of the rally’s board, Peter James, explains why.
“COVID-19 is starting to subside but will Digby be open to tens of thousands of bikes turning up in September? Maybe, maybe not, and it’s hard to spend money based on that.”
However there will be a few virtual events.
There’s going to be an online photo contest and geocaching maps. They will also be organizing Share the Wind rides in the local area.
James discussed bringing the rally back in 2022.
“We have a lot of very positive volunteers to drive this forward and for us not to be able to put it on last year was soul destroying,” says James. “We will be preparing, even before Christmas, for a really big rally for ’22.”
