There are 25 new cases of COVID-19 and one death being reported on Thursday.
Premier Iain Rankin says the person who died is a man in his 30’s.
It marks the youngest person to pass away after contracting the virus in Nova Scotia.
There are 15 new cases in the Halifax region. Eleven of the cases are close contacts of previously reported cases, two are related to travel and two are under investigation.
Eight cases are in Eastern Zone. Six of the cases are close contacts of previously reported cases, one is related to travel and one is under investigation.
Two cases are in Northern Zone. One is related to travel and the other is under investigation.
There is limited community spread in Central Zone. Eastern, Northern and Western Zones continue to be closely monitored for community spread.
“On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I wish to offer sincere condolences to the family and friends who are mourning the loss of a loved one,” said Rankin. “Please get vaccinated as soon as you can, get tested on a regular basis and follow the restrictions and public health measures.”
Nova Scotia has 273 active cases of COVID-19. There are 22 people in hospital, including nine in ICU.
