The province recently hit a COVID-19 vaccination milestone.
As of Saturday, half a million doses have been administered to Nova Scotians.
Health and Wellness Minister and Yarmouth MLA Zach Churchill marked the occasion at City Drug Store.
He says the province has a great partnership with the Pharmacy Association and Doctors Association of Nova Scotia.
“The bulk of our vaccines, over 65 per cent, are being delivered by pharmacists. It was really great to celebrate that milestone at a locally-owned and operated business like City Drug Store,” said Churchill.
Churchill says over half the population has at least one dose, and they are ahead of schedule in their vaccination plan.
He says a more relaxed summer is looking promising.
“If you look at what’s happening with vaccines and the impact of restrictions on case numbers, it’s really looking like we’re going to have a bright and relaxed summer.”
The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are now available for those aged 20 and up, with the province expected to rollout availability to everyone over 12 later this week.
