A community spirit plaque has been given to the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth by Lieutenant Governor Arthur LeBlanc on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.
The plaque is in recognition of those who contributed to aiding their fellow citizens in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Warden John Cunningham talked about what the plaque means for the community.
“It means a lot to the municipality of the district of Yarmouth for the simple fact that is shows that it not only recognizes council but it also recognizes the residents for their volunteerism and their innovative ways to help those who are less fortunate of had a lot of trouble during this pandemic.” said Cunningham.
Cunningham thanked the community for their efforts.
