A 24 year old man wearing a clown mask was arrested in Clark’s Harbour last night.
Barrington RCMP say the man was arrested around 8:30 after witnesses reported he grabbed at the clothing of a young boy while the boy and a group of youths were walking along School Street.
The man was also wearing a t-shirt with a clown on it at the time of the incident.
He is facing a charge of Breach of Undertaking, and will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on November 2nd.
RCMP Media Relations Corporal Jennifer Clarke says similar complaints have been made regarding this type of incident.
Clarke says says if people feel they have been threatened or intimidated, they need to reach out to their local police.
RCMP say it’s difficult to understand why incidents involving clowns are popping up in Nova Scotia.
There are also social media accounts including one called ShelburneCountyClowns that features the message “We are here to watch you.”
