Some relief coming for registered non-profit groups in the Municipality of Yarmouth.
Council approved a one-time COVID-19 relief fund of $50,000 at their meeting this week.
Any registered non-profit organization that operates in the municipality can apply for a one-time allotment from the fund.
Warden John Cunningham says this will help groups that have had trouble due to the pandemic.
“We know there are a lot of organizations out there that are not-for-profit, like community halls and fire halls, that just weren’t able to get out and do fundraising this year.”
Applicants are required to fill out a form by no later than April 15th.
Cunningham says he’s hoping this relief fund will be a welcomed help.
