New windows will soon be installed at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives on Collins Street.
The large windows are for the front of the building, and will replace the current ones that have rotted, creating leaks during storms.
A company in the Annapolis Valley is expected to begin the replacement in mid-October.
Museum Director/Curator Nadine Gates says it will cost about $35,000, and fundraising efforts continue.
“So far we’ve raised about twelve thousand dollars. It’s never too late to make a donation, every dollar is appreciated. We have our biggest
fundraiser of the season on Nov 5, it’s a 1970’s disco dinner and dance with an auction.”
Gates says the current windows may date back to 1893, when it was the Tabernacle Church.
She says the new windows will protect artifacts immediately under the windows, and the top arch section will have glass in it for the first time in many years.
