A local fundraising group has announced that they have donated over $200,000 to various charitable organizations in the area over the last 4 years.
Pitches are made to the group at each meeting. The members then decide which organization will receive funds. Each member donates $100.
Organizer Rick Allwright says the money has been raised over the course of 17 meetings.
“It’s a big milestone for us,” said Allwright “It’s really great to be able to give back in such large chunks at a time to these deserving charities that are doing great work in the community.”
Allwright added that the group can be counted on to keep funds flowing to local charities and organizations.
“It really comes down to being able to put together this group of guys and make sure that there’s consistent donations going back into the community,” said Allwright “It’s a great way for any individual to get involved and to contribute to a much bigger cause than themselves.”
The group chosen to receive donations this quarter is the Aidaen Mae Fund. Allwright says they will receive around $13,000.
