A one million dollar investment from the Municipality of Yarmouth will go towards significant upgrades to 62 Rcom Drive, home to Millennium One Solutions, in the Hebron Business Park.
The investment was matched by the federal government through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s Innovative Communities Fund.
Yarmouth Municipality CAO, Victoria Brooks, talked about what the money will be put into.
“There are upgrades to the actual shell of the building in terms of roof repairs, window repairs, structural repairs,” said Brooks. “There are also requirements for security enhancements.”
She also talked about where they are at with the work.
“The security enhancements that are required are largely complete, a lot of the structural pieces are complete,” said Brooks. “I would say we have about 50% of the structural and cosmetic work left to do.”
The Municipality says they are currently recruiting approximately 100 employees, and are forecasting an additional 300 jobs.
