The subject of the Meat Cove manhunt is expected in Sydney Provincial Court Thursday.
RCMP say Perry MacKinnon, 34, turned himself into officers at roughly 10:30 p.m. Wednesday; news that MacKinnon was taken into custody was first delivered via an emergency alert late Wednesday.
They say he was not armed; officers found a gun before he turned himself in.
MacKinnon had been wanted on multiple warrants for failing to attend court.
Police say they expect further charges against him, including firearms-related offences.
They say MacKinnon fled into the woods in the remote northern Inverness Co. community with a firearm Monday morning; a helicopter with an infrared camera was also part of the search.
Residents of Meat Cove and surrounding communities had been warned to stay inside since Monday; they were told to not approach MacKinnon, and to call 911 if they saw him.
RCMP say officers also arrested a 49-year-old man from Meat Cove for obstruction of justice in relation to their search; he has been released from custody.
JUST IN: Not everyone has received this alert but Perry MacKinnon has been taken into custody without incident.
