Ground searchers comb an area of marshland off Morris Island on Wednesday, January 13th.
RCMP confirm that the body of a 69 year old man missing since last week has been recovered from waters off Morris Island.
Police say he was recovered on Saturday morning by fishermen who continued searching independently.
Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue and RCMP began their search on January 13th.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre was also involved in the search, though they suspended operations last Wednesday and handed the investigation off to RCMP.
The Mounties say he was found near the area where his canoe was located.
