The five finalists for the Win This Space competition have been selected by the competition’s judges.
The five finalists are Accountable Bookkeeping and Tax Service by Jenny Scott, London Calling British Boutique by Jenny Wilcockson, Tide Kite by Blerina Berberi, Wild Roots Catering by Kylie Brownell and Word-craft by Ingrid d’Eon.
The finalists were announced in a Facebook live video on the Western Regional Enterprise’s page.
One of the judges, Julie MacLean, shared her thoughts on the competition before the names were announced.
“Having worked with small businesses in this area for many many years its great to see that people are still out there and still trying, Even in these very challenging times.” said MacLean.
The three judges received the business plans last week and scored them independently before meeting to choose the top 5.
Jim Smith, another one of the judges, talked about the selection process.
“It was a little difficult getting to the top five,” said Smith. “I think we’ve got a very strong group.
The finalists will pitch their business ideas to the judges, Dragon’s Den style, on January 28th on Facebook live at 3 p.m.
