Keeping businesses informed of changing COVID-19 restrictions was the biggest challenge in 2020 for the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce according to Executive Director Rick Allwright.
But he says it was also their biggest accomplishment.
“Being able to assist our members in the way that we did,” said Allwright “We ran with making sure that our members knew exactly what they could access, what the rules were. We did a lot of advocacy work to help make sure that the programs that were rolling out actually made sense for the businesses within the area and we had a great success with that.”
Allwright discussed the Chamber of Commerce’s plans for 2021.
“Getting a little back into our routine a little bit,” said Allwright. “We want to bring back our business awards for 2021. We’re going to be looking to roll out more programs for our members in terms of affinity programs. We’re rolling out a new membership. Working with our members to provide them with events and educational opportunities that they need and to grow their business.”
Allwright’s message for people is to continue to shop and support local business.
