If you’re planning to go out tonight make sure you have a designated driver.
RCMP Cst. Dave Hart says if you plan on consuming alcohol or drugs, don’t get behind the wheel.
Checkpoints will be in place and you’ll see more RCMP out and about throughout the province.
Hart tells Acadia Broadcasting RCMP will be looking for drivers under the influence.
“You will see us out. You will see us conducting mandatory roadside screening tests. The changes to the criminal code several years back allow police to conduct roadside breath checks on anybody driving.
Hart says if you see a driver under the influence, call the RCMP or your local police service.
