At 2pm Sunday, walkers or runners will begin the trek through Ellenwood Provincial Park.
Mandy Nickerson organizes the Yarmouth event and is one of 16 coordinators nationally.
She says she got involved as a way to remember a loved one.
“I started doing it a couple of years ago because I lost my mom three and a half years ago to melanoma. I enlisted the help of some wonderful volunteers..”
Nickerson says its a way to raise money, have fun and raise awareness.
About 100 people turned out a couple of years ago, but attendance was down last year when it moved to the morning.
Nickerson hopes to see the turnout trend upward this year.
She says melanoma is preventable if you take proper precautions in the sun.
