
Saturday’s Municipal Election revealed some new faces around Yarmouth County councils, as well as some familiar incumbents.
In the Town of Yarmouth, Incumbent Mayor Pam Mood secured a third term by defeating Charles Crosby, Angie Romard, and Greg Doucette.
Returning councillors are Steve Berry, Wade Cleveland, and Jim MacLeod.
Shoring up the council table are newly-elected representatives Heather Hatfield, Gil Dares, and Derek Lesser.
In the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth, District 1 was won by acclamation with John Cunningham returning to the fold.
Also returning to the council table are Loren Cushing, Trevor Cunningham, Daniel Allen, and Patti Durkee.
Some new faces with Sheri Hurlburt, and Nick Hilton claiming victories.
In the Municipality of Argyle, incumbents Danny Muise, Guy Surette, Nicole Albright, Glenn Diggdon, Kathy Bourque, and Calvin d’Entremont are all returning to the fold.
New representation in District 2 with Ted Saulnier defeating incumbent Roderick Murphy Junior, and in District 3 with Gordon Boudreau claiming victory.
Some new faces in Shelburne County as well.
In the Town of Shelburne, a new mayor with Harold Locke defeating Karen Harris-Mattatall.
Council will be comprised of Elizabeth Acker, Sheldon Ringer, Benjamin Nickerson, and Rick Davis.
Only two races in the Municipality of the District of Shelburne, with Terry MacIntyre winning in District 4, and Dale Richardson with a decisive victory in District 7.
All other seats were acclaimed.
In the Municipality of the District of Shelburne, incumbents George El-Jakl, Eddie Nickerson, and Jody Crook return to the fold.
Andrea Mood-Nickerson defeated incumbent Murray Atkinson in District 2.
The Town of Clark’s Harbour did not have results available as of 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
Some changes in Digby County following Saturday’s Municipal Election.
In the Town of Digby, Ben Cleveland remains mayor.
Incumbent councillors Mike Bartlett and Peter Turnbull were elected alongside newcomers Paul Saulnier and William McCormick.
The Municipality of Digby was all but acclaimed, with only one race: George Manzer defeated Terry MacBurnie by three votes.
Same situation in the Municipality of Clare, with acclamations in every district except District 3 where Philippe Gaudet claimed victory, and District 6 with incumbent Eric Pothier claiming victory.
