Thunder Bay Police and the community searching for a better long-term relationship with the infancy of Gawendum Gaakina Awaya.
The group was launched in April of 2018 to replace the former Aboriginal Liaison Unit.
“The unit still focuses on indigenous issues, but adding the diversity lens that we need to be mindful we have. We want to ensure we’re looking at all facets of our community” adds Police Chief Sylvie Hauth.
