A 27-year old Barrington man has been charged after an altercation at a home in Clyde River on Saturday.
The victim was struck in the head with a piece of lumber, then physically assaulted by the suspect, who is known to the victim.
The suspect then left the residence, forcibly taking another person with him.
The victim called for help and was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Dustin Crowell of Barrington is charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Kidnapping, and three counts of Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance yesterday (Monday) where he was remanded.
Crowell is scheduled to return to Yarmouth Provicial Court this Thursday (July 23).
