A proposed class-action lawsuit has been filed against the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax.
Wagners says it filed the suit in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia on Monday.
The statement of claim alleges that Northwood Halifax’s practices, policies, and procedures, and lack thereof, caused the viral spread of COVID-19 through the residence.
It goes on to say that Northwood Halifax had full knowledge of the dangers and health risks posed by a COVID-19 pandemic but maintained the status quo at the cost of numerous individuals’ safety and lives.
60 people in Nova Scotia have died due to COVID-19 – 53 of those were Northwood residents.
