Another COVID-19 related death is being reported at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax.
Of the forty-eight deaths in Nova Scotia, forty-one have been at the fifty-three year old facility, where 156 residents and 18 staff currently have active cases of COVID-19.
Premier Stephen McNeil said “It is with heavy hearts we report the passing of another resident at Northwood. My thoughts are with the family and friends of this individual. All Nova Scotians are asked to do everything you can to continue to slow the spread of this virus in our province.”
Two other facilities in the province have one case each, one a resident and the other a staff member.
There are now 1019 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province after one more positive result yesterday, as well as 33,869 people who have tested negative, and 767 people have recovered.
Of the nine people in hospital, three are in the Intensive Care Unit.
