Police have given an ‘all clear’ following a shots fired call in HRM Friday afternoon.
An emergency alert went out shortly after 4 pm saying Nova Scotia RCMP were on scene in a wooded area of Haliburton Hills and Highland Park Heights subdivisions in relation to a report of shots fired in the HRM.
RCMP have since cleared the area, stating it had been extensively searched and no evidence of shots being fired were found.
There was also been an additional call of shots fired in the Glen Arbour area, but it was determined to be noise from a nearby construction area.
RCMP say they will continue to patrol the areas.
Meanwhile Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint at the Canadian Tire in Dartmouth Crossing this afternoon.
In a release, HRP says they received a call of two males passing a firearm back and forth in the parking lot. Upon responding, police arrested a 26-year-old male without incident, and discovered an airsoft weapon in the vehicle belonging to that male. A second 22-year-old male had left the scene before police arrived, but returned and was arrested on scene.
HRP says upon investigation, the two men were visiting Canadian Tire to purchase airsoft ammo and CO2 canisters.
