
Halifax Regional Police have laid charges against a Barrington man in relation to a drug-related death more than a year ago.
A new release says that on November 2, 2018 at approximately 11:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman who required immediate medical assistance at a home in Halifax.
19 year old Cameron Annette Clairmont, also of Barrington, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police say her death was determined to be a result of a drug overdose, and a subsequent investigation determined that there were grounds to lay charges.
28 year old Jesse Arthur Simpson of Barrington was arrested on Thursday in Barrington in relation to the death.
He is due in Halifax Provincial Court today (Friday) to face charges of manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl.
