If your young son or daughter think they may want to be a firefighter when they grow up, there’s a great opportunity.
It’s the 7th annual Fire Fighters Family Fun Day next month.
There will be lots of firefighters to talk with, apparatus and equipment to see and as YFD fire prevention officer Stewart Deveau tells us, “lots of food and fun.”
“Lake Vaughn will be there with their free ice cream cones, You’ll have a chance to try on firefighting gear, there’s something for everyone and of course, popular with the kids, a ride of a fire truck.”
There’ll also be water games, a dunking booth, bouncy castle, fire truck show and shine and a vehicle extrication (Jaws of Life) demonstration. There’s also a chance to win a real fire hydrant.
It happens Saturday September 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mariners Centre.
There’s no admission and Deveau says it’s a way for fire fighters throughout the Tri-Counties to thank the public for their support over the past year.
They’ll be accepting donations in support of the Firefighters Museum of Nova Scotia in Yarmouth.
